NusantEro Big Band is a cultural project involving 13 European musicians from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, Slovakia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and 11 Indonesian musicians led and conducted by Indonesian Jazz pianist and arranger, Nita Aartsen. Trumpetist Gerald Kleijn and jazz singer Eduard Alexander Aartsen will represent the Netherlands in the project.

The collaboration is specially formed to celebrate the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2020 and will present a mix of Indonesian and European legendary compositions and authors with legacy in the jazz scene. It will highlight European jazz legends such as Erik Satie, Nino Rota, Toots Thielmans, and Jens Winter, as well as Indonesian legendary composers like Maladi, Ismail Marzuki, and Gesang.
