Bantar Gebang is the largest landfill in Southeast Asia and home to around 3,000 families that earn about $2-$5 dollars a day.
Since 2004, the kids of the community have BGBJ, a club where they can relax, learn new skills and meet foreign volunteers. This year, the kids are participating in their first ever Make Music Day, a worldwide music celebration in 120 countries and over 1,000 cities. Along with the kids there will be live music of all varieties, art, costumes and drumming from reclaimed materials at the landfill, local food, and upcycled products for sale. Come see where your trash goes, support the local community, and join the party!
